CHP Officer Andrew Camilleri benefit WOD. Saturday, February 17th, 2018, starting at 8 am.
CrossFit CSA in Dublin, Ca is going to be hosting a benefit WOD to honor CHP Officer Andrew Camilleri Sr. On the evening of Dec. 24th Officer Camilleri was killed in the line of duty. Officer Camilleri's cruiser was struck by a drunk driver, while parked on the side of a freeway. Officer Camiileri was 33 years old. He joined the California Highway Patrol as a cadet on August 27th, 2016. He graduated from the academy on March 3rd, 2017, and was assigned to the Hayward office. Officer Camilleri is survived by his wife and 3 children. Officer Camilleri gave the ultimate sacrifice, while upholding his oath to protect and serve.
Officer Camilleri joined CrossFit Tracy with the goal of becoming a CHP officer. Not only did he achieve his goal but he created many lifelong friendships along the way. He, his wife and his children became fixtures in the CFT community. On Sunday 12/31/2017 CFT held a workout named and created in Officer Andrew Camilleri's honor.
CrossFit CSA will host the hero WOD CFT created in Officer Camilleri's honor. All proceeds will go directly to his family. Online entries received by Weds. Feb. 7th, 2018 will receive a memorial t-shirt on the day of the event. T-shirts will not be shipped and must be picked up on the day of the event. Entries paid on or after Feb. 8th will not receive a memorial shirt. WOD's will run approximately every 45-50 minutes. WOD times will be posted on the CSA website, on the evening of Friday Feb. 16th. There will be appropriate scaled alternatives available for this event. If you cannot make this event, donations are accepted through the ticket link on eventbrite.com. Tickets are $30, no refunds, due to the nature of the event.
